At 102 Rivo Street, stands the oldest church in Monsampietro Morico, considered a national monument. Dating from the 11th century, the “Chiesa Romanica di San Paolo” (Roaminc Church of St. Paul) was built of sandstone on Roman remains in the Romanesque style. The façade, redone in the 18th century, is divided in three parts by pilasters with a triangular tympanum, while the semicircular apse and walls feature hanging arches and single lancet windows that give light to the single hall, covered by a pointed barrel vault. This cemetery site, immersed in silence, holds the memory and spirituality of generations of locals.
